This annual outdoor food drive is a partnership between Food Gatherers, ann arbor's 107one FM and Kroger stores throughout Washtenaw County. The main events (and volunteers!) take place at Kroger on S. Maple Rd, where we plan to collect 200 tons of nutritious food for our community. Volunteers will be assigned to a role upon arrival and will help in the following ways: Sharing information about Food Gatherers and the food we need most Accepting food donations from shoppers and from people arriving with food donations in their cars Loading food into carts and storage bins The shifts are generally 2 hours long, and run from 7am until 7pm Weds-Sat, and 10am - 5pm on Sunday. If you are able to work during the morning/afternoon on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, those are the shifts we have the most difficulty filling. Individuals are welcome, as are families or groups, but we try to keep the number of volunteers on one shift to 6 people or fewer. Keep in mind that this is an outdoor event (and can get pretty cold), so parents might not want to bring smaller children.
Goal: 6 hours
